String quartet Asturia Girls from Ukraine will perform at UEFA Champions League final on Saturday 1 June in Madrid.
The band will perform the world famous anthem of Champions League before the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
The quartet is made up of Vera Valieva (violin), Kateryna Golovko (violin), Elena Moskalenko (viola) and Miroslava Tsybka (cello). Girls will play their own special rendition of the iconic anthem.
“It’s amazing for us to have the opportunity to perform just minutes before the start of a match which is watch by millions around the globe. This is a moment we will cherish for the rest of our lives and we’re looking forward to putting on a performance to remember,” said Tsybka.
Musicians of the quartet were trained at the National Tchaikovsky Music Academy in Kyiv. Their first album was released in 2017 and included classical compositions and cover versions of the songs of Lady Gaga, Madonna and Depeche Mode.
