The archaeological excavations at the Postal Square in Kyiv is officially recognized as an archaeological and historical site of national significance — informs Ministry of culture of Ukraine.

The Government approved the change of category of the landmark “Land of the Coastal City Quarter of Medieval Kyiv” at Postal Square in Kyiv to a national significance site, and also assigned it a security number 260094. A corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on May 22.

Before, on November 29, 2018, in response to numerous activists’ requests the Kyiv City Council approved a draft decision which stipulates the termination or substantial change of the investment agreement with the developer who wanted to build a shopping center on Postal Square.
